The Bossier Women Leaders of Tomorrow Program was developed to enrich the educational experience of high school senior women in Bossier Parish; develop well-rounded young women by providing them the opportunity to experience first-hand the various components involved in managing the legal, political, economic, cultural and educational areas of the community; encourage the development of community-minded citizens; and create future women leaders and ambassadors for the Bossier area.
Pursuant to our mission, the Bossier Women's Commission's Lead Award Program (Leadership Enhancement and Development) has emerged as part of the Mentoring Program to further the pursuit of excellence among Bossier City's future leaders - our senior high school students. Not only does this program help to increase participation from area schools, but it enhances the overall mentoring experience for the students by offering this incentive for those students who display leadership qualities by excelling above and beyond the expected.
The transition from high school to college can be challenging-especially if you don't have a solid support system. Find the resources you need to become the best version of yourself at Commission for Women Bossier City.
Our nonprofit organization offers a special mentoring program for high school girls in the Bossier City, LA community. Each year girls from each school are accepted into our program. At the end, some will receive a college scholarship if they meet the necessary requirements.
Do you know a young lady who would benefit from our mentoring program? Email today to begin their application.
All young girls enrolled in our program are required to attend monthly events where they'll receive points for participation. Then, they'll submit a 500-word essay that's sent off for grading and added to their final total. The young ladies with the most points at the end of the year will receive the scholarship.
The young girls enrolled in our mentorship program will receive access to fun and informative events, like:
City council meetings
A four-hour etiquette class
Local galleries and plays
Court house tours
